10 Tips To Throw A Low Budget Party

Holidays might be over, and your piggy bank a little tired,  but don’t worry! We have some good news for you!  You don’t need a 4-digit budget to throw an outstanding party. We put together some tips and tricks to help you get the “wow” effect from your guests, even with a small budget (thanks for nothing expensive margaritas by the beach).

  1. Candles everywhere

Candles can be very useful as a cheap way to impress your guests with the decoration of your event. Don’t hesitate to get creative with the containers you use depending on the atmosphere you want to create. Place them in glasses to have a romantic ambiance. Hang them from trees in beer bottles or place them in jam jars half-filled with sand for magical feel .

Tip: If you are afraid of real flames,  you can get the same effect with flameless candles.

  1. Back to the 90’s

Old school is back to light. If  you want to have a cool activity at your event, use a polaroid to take pictures of your guests. You can buy one for a couple of pounds in Camden market. The paper is a bit expensive though, but it’s totally worth it. Your guests will love going home with their polaroid photos and will remember your event even better. It will give it a sketchy and hipstery taste.

  1. Tech-savvy invites

If you’re working with a tech-savvy crowd, you can ditch traditional invites and switch to inviting everyone through social media or websites such as evite, which allows you to create beautiful virtual invitations for free!  You’ll save on postage and printing costs and you’d be amazed at the design you can create online, setting the tone for the entire experience.

  1. Select one color

A mono-chromatic theme can be impressive and very easy to accomplish. It is very easy to distinguish and can be declined to everything, from the color or the food to the attire of the guests. If your event surrounds a guest of honor, or a particular theme, opting for this can attract attention to the VIP or put the theme at the center of the attention, in a very easy way.

  1. Remember the smell

Event organisers don’t always think about it, but smells are some of our most long-held memories, so using them for your event can really make a big impression. It is cost-savvy and your guests will feel like you paid attention to every detail. Just light up incense sticks throughout your venue to create a relaxed atmosphere. If you want something a bit more romantic or discrete, just fill a jelly jar mid-way with lavender and place a small votice candle in it.

  1. Be creative

There are tons of amazing objects you can make yourself. You just have to be a bit creative, to enjoy manual work and to be able to plan ahead. Pinterest is your friend for all these ideas. It will show you all the great stuff you can make to enhance your party. Our favorite one: simply insert confetti in a balloon, it will give a magic touch to your event.

  1. Less but better

We all know your mum’s couscous is the best anyone will ever taste. However, it might not be a great idea to serve it for your event, unless it is super intimate. Instead of serving a large quantity of food, you better choose to serve less, but more refined food. Finger food can be great for an event as it allows your guests to talk while they eat, it is easy to grab and small enough to not bother them while walking around. In order to keep the price low, you can hire one of Hiroes’ cooks, which will make impressive food for a very affordable price, taking the burden of cooking off your shoulders.

  1. Cocktail of the house!

Alcohol can be one of the worst budget-busters when it comes to throwing a party, especially if you need to buy full bottles of a variety of alcohol. Instead of buying your supplies from the liquor store, go the “chic” route and pick a signature drink for the night. That way, you only have to purchase one or two types of alcohol and you can specifically base your drink around a cheaper wine spritzer over pricier liquor. Just be sure to supply non-alcohol drinks, like sparkling water and punch for your thirsty guests.

  1. Music is a must

Playing around with your Spotify playlist, having your guests changing songs every two seconds, might not be the most convenient way to display music at your event. Whether you want everyone on the dance floor or ambient music in the background, the bill can quickly add up with professional DJ’s or musicians. Yet, those are essential to a successful event. Thankfully, Hiroes will solve this problem by offering amazing artists at very affordable prices.

Tip: You can leave your email address on our website, you’ll be the first ones to know when Hiroes is up and running!

  1. Go Easy on the Entertainment

Let’s be honest: most people will be happy at a party with some good music and maybe a set of cards. It doesn’t take more than a set of tunes and drinks to get people mingling and talking. Chances are they won’t even think about what’s missing, so don’t stress about games and other extras.
